Center-wide benefit luncheon a success Over 110 guests attended a luncheon on May 6 at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti to help raise scholarship dollars for adults to attend the University of Michigan Aphasia Program (UMAP) and children and teens to attend speech-language and literacy therapy at the Center. Center Director Dr. Holly Craig talked about the Center’s history, its mission of providing intensive therapy, and the need for scholarship money to help people cover the costs of intensive therapy. Guest speaker Migdalia Musler moved those in attendance as she told about her toddler son who attended the Preschool and Communication Therapy (PACT) program. A poised Sarah McCurrach, age 11, awed the crowd with her story about her dyslexia. And, Doug Gillis inspired the audience with his story about waking up from a stroke not speaking to now speaking to groups of hundreds. UCLL greatly appreciates the help from our Table Sponsors, Table Captains, and Supporters in making our event a success! UCLL 2008 Center-wide Benefit Luncheon Table Sponsors |
