UCLL is accepting applications for a Part-Time Teaching Assistant for the Kindergarten-First Grade Starter (KFGS) summer program. The Teaching Assistant will work on a team with a Speech-Language Pathologists, a Reading Specialist, and volunteers within a classroom-based language and literacy program for children between the ages of 5 to 6 years. Responsibilities include: assisting in planning, implementing activities that promote language development, supporting activities led by the Speech-Language Pathologists and / or Reading specialist, and developing and organizing materials for the program.

Necessary minimum requirements are: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a field related to childhood development and/or education; experience working with young children who have learning disabilities or communication disorders.

KFGS will run from June 28 – July 29, 2010. Hours are 8:30-11:30am from Monday to Thursday.
